Sudhir Choudhrie has had quite a fascinating life and business career. Despite being born and raised in a humble home, he has achieved great things and inspired millions throughout his life. Today, he is best known as the Alpha G: Corp Development vice chairman and the Magnum International Trading Executive Director. Recently, Sudhir did an interview where he shared insights into his life and career.

Winning against all odds

This Magnum International Trading executive director revealed that he was born in Delhi, India, in 1946. His father passed away when he was very young, but luckily for him, his mother was an excellent role model and caregiver. Unfortunately, at age eight, Sudhir Choudhrie was taken for a medical exam where it was discovered that he was suffering from a leaky valve heart condition. This is a rare medical condition that causes the heart to skip, putting the individual at the risk of heart failure all the time.

This iconic Indian-born business leader said that although he was young, he never let his heart condition hold him from dreaming and pursuing his dreams. He excelled in high school and joined the prestigious University of Delhi to study for a degree in economics. After graduating, Sudhir Choudhrie worked for his grandfather before launching his entrepreneurship career by starting Magnum Trading Company in 1975.

Conquering the business sector

Magnum Trading Company focused on expanding India’s emerging export markets. As soon as his first business venture started to pick up pace, he moved into the tourism industry by investing in Taj Hotels and Resorts. He followed this with an investment in Adidas AG in 1995. Sudhir Choudhrie continued expanding his business portfolio is by investing in Ebookers in 1999 and served as its director until 2005. Another outstanding business move that he made came in 2003 when he heavily invested in Air Deccan. Sudhir is also one of the longest surviving heart transplant patients.
