Approximately 4 kms from Central Nelson on the south eastern side of the city, Tantragee Saddle is the key to some great forest track riding in and around Fireball Road (Yellow) .
Once at the Brook Street carpark (OK Corral) follow the unsealed road which steadily climbs for approximately 1km to the saddle.
At the saddle climb over the stile and you can choose to continue straight onto Fireball Road or right down into the valley floor.
Fireball Road gives you a mixture of 4WD and single track weaving its way through pine forest. This undulating terrain provides both sustained climbs and exhilarating downhills to satisfy both the fitness freak and adrenalin junkie. This area alone can provide days of entertainment but should you wish to venture futher Tantragee Saddle provides access to both The Dun Mountain Walkway and Fringe Hill.
