Only a few hours to spare? How about a lovely 2 hour (approx) ride on the Dun Mountain Walkway.
Here's your chance to ride a piece of our history. The Dun Mountain Walkway was New Zealand's first railway line, opening in 1862 it was used to access copper and chromite mines east of Nelson. The rail tracks have all gone now and in its place is a popular walkway which winds itself through pine and beech forest providing some great views of the city along the way. Third house is a great spot to have lunch in the sun while enjoying the views. For the more adventurous cycle on another 2 hours to Coppermine Saddle.Talk to our staff for more details and a map to set you on your way.
